What on earth does "Brexit" actually mean in concrete terms? What consequences will the decision to leave the European Union have for Britain? The country is deeply divided. The rift also runs through the political parties. How could it come to this messy situation?

The renowned British filmmaker Patrick Forbes has been observing developments in the UK since the Brexit vote in June 2016 and reports on the state of his country in upheaval. He talks to politicians of all parties, supporters and opponents of Brexit and to affected EU foreigners for whom the Brexit decision has painful consequences.
